There are different brands to choose from and they can be bought in music stores or even online. The humidifiers are usually easy to use. They usually come in sponge like form covered with latex or plastic. The humidifier has to be monitored and moistened every now and then. Some humidifiers come with hydrometer. A hydrometer is useful in reading the humidity level of the instrument or case. There are also other guitar humidifiers that do not have hydrometer or they might have hydrometer but the readings they give are inaccurate. You might have to invest on a good hydrometer to better protect the condition of the guitar.

Just as a guitar humidifier is used to keep the guitar from getting too dry, there are dehumidifiers that keep the guitar from getting too wet. For those who are in a more humid area, it would be best to ask from a local music store if humidifiers are needed to be used in your area. The effect of having too much moisture in the guitar is also not good. It will cause the guitar to be too wet and prone to mold and other damages. Just remember that anything that is too much is not good. This also applies with the taking care of a guitar.
